Do you know when your 2018 tax returns are due? - The filing deadlines for 2018 returns are the same as last year, but remember the IRS flipped the filing deadline for sea courts. - If you're a business owner, use this list to refresh yourself on the due dates for your business returns. - For partnerships filing form 1065 and escorts filing form 1120s, your returns are due March 15th, 2019, and you can file for an automatic six-month extension until September 16th. - C-corporations file form 1120, and those returns are due April 15th, with an extension deadline of October 15th. - Personal returns, form 1040 and Schedule C, are due April 15th, and you can apply for an extension until October 15th, 2019. - Nonprofits filing form 990 are due by May 15th, 2019, and can get an extension until November 15th. - Keep in mind that an extension of time to file is not an extension of time to pay. If you're going to owe taxes, you need to pay by April 15th to reduce your late payment penalties. - The above dates are based on the calendar year tax filing. If your tax year end is not 1231, then the deadlines are as follows: pass-through entities like partnerships and escorts are due the 15th day of the third month after your end, C corporations with fiscal year ends are due the 15th day of the fourth month after your end. - If this video helped you, make sure to click like and subscribe below.
